Stena Fastigheter expands EV charging with Amp5

During 2025, Stena Fastigheter Malmö is going from 100 chargeable parking spaces to 300 by early 2026. It's a well-thought-out initiative with clear goals, and the first choice is Amp5 from AmpSociety, says Jonas Augustsson, purchasing manager at Stena Fastigheter Malmö AB.

Stena Fastigheter is one of Sweden's largest privately owned property companies, with significant holdings of residential and commercial properties in Swedish metropolitan regions and some operations abroad. In Malmö and surrounding areas, they own and manage thousands of rental apartments and many commercial premises in several city districts.

"We've been working with electric vehicle charging for six years. But in 2024, we decided to become more active, signed an agreement with the charging operator ChargeNode, and set the goal that ten percent of our parking spaces should be charging points by 2026," says Jonas Augustsson, purchasing manager at Stena Fastigheter Malmö AB.

Ambitious initiative

It's a noticeable investment. At the start of 2025, Stena Fastigheter Malmö had just over 100 charging points in Malmö. By early 2026, they will have over 300.

In May, Stena Fastigheter made its first installation of AmpSociety's new Amp5 in the Frans Suell block, near Stortorget in Malmö. In total, Amp5 was installed at 26 of the garage's 65 spaces.

The charging points are connected to ChargeNode’s platform, which Stena Fastigheter uses for operation, control and smart load optimization. Through the partnership between AmpSociety’s hardware and ChargeNode’s platform, Stena Fastigheter receives a stable, scalable and long-term solution that is easy to operate and simple to expand as demand grows.

First choice

“When we choose, it’s important that it is smart charging infrastructure where hardware and software can be optimized to handle power peaks,” says Jonas Augustsson.

The initiative has been well received by both customers and tenants. They find it easy to use both the app and the QR code, and the fact that Amp5 features a display where users can see the price and confirm that charging has started is seen as a clear advantage.

The expansion doesn't stop

The 2026 goal of ten percent chargeable spaces will soon be achieved. But it doesn't stop there. "No, we've set even higher goals through 2029. Along the way, we'll analyze how much charging is happening and what the demand looks like."

Scalability – an obvious advantage

He views the possibility of extending the Amp5 charging bar – with additional spaces – very positively.

"It's fantastic to be a supplier to such a dynamic and goal-oriented property manager as Stena Fastigheter, who leads the way by investing in the latest hardware from our sister company AmpSociety," says Richard Forssell, key account manager at ChargeNode AB.

An important part of the customer offering

"For us at Stena Fastigheter, it's important to invest in solid charging infrastructure. We want to be able to offer our customers sustainable transportation. We certainly notice that demand is increasing," says Jonas Augustsson, purchasing manager at Stena Fastigheter Malmö AB.
